It’s been a very long while, in a very strange time.
All those certainties of life – foreign holidays, visiting families, working in an office, going to dance classes on a Friday night– have all disappeared.
Maybe you’ve forgotten your left foot from your right.
Maybe you’ve forgotten what Contra Body Movement is.
Maybe you’ve forgotten what great times we used to have dancing.
Maybe you've have forgotten who I am...
Maybe I should remind you then. We’re coming back. Yes, back, back, back !
Things will be a little different...isn't everything ?
Starting on Friday 3rd September (and most Fridays thereafter) we’ll be running classes again – from Risby Village Hall. (We’ve thought long and hard about venues, Great Barton is a fantastic venue and has served us well, but at the end of the day its size doesn’t lend itself to social distancing. At the moment it feels right to be cautious, so Risby it is.)
There will be two classes – Intermediate and Advanced. Let’s be realistic (and maybe honest) for a moment. None of us have danced much for ages, advanced might be stretching a point. But the way I see it, is that ‘Intermediate’ is for anyone that’s been to a class before, ‘Advanced’ is anyone who traditionally came to the later class on a Tuesday or Friday.
We will have to put a ceiling on numbers, but subject to that if you wanted to try both classes you'd be welcome
Intermediate will be 7.30 – 8.30, Advanced 8.30 – 9.30.
(In case you're wondering, for the moment we're not running beginners classes - I've decided to completely focus on old friends before making new ones)
After a few weeks it will all come flooding back. So much so that you'll be itching to put it into practice. So here’s the really great news….
…on 20th November, somewhere in Bury St Edmunds there will be a dance event that I’ve wanted to run for years. There may never be another one quite like it, It's our official re-opening.
It will be an evening to remember, one that you really won’t want to miss.
More information will be made available this Friday….but in the meantime save the date ! Tell your friends, forward the e-mail, ring the church bells, send a TikTok, retweet….
Missed you all, see you soon
